Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, on Thursday, expressed sadness over the fire that razed Panteka Market in Kaduna on Wednesday.
According to the Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, Paul Aboi, no life was lost in the inferno which burnt the timber section of the popular market.
Speaker Abbas in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described the incident as unfortunate, noted that the incident occurred at a time when there are economic hardships.
Lamenting the economic losses which the incident had caused to both business owners and the workers in the market, he however, urged the victims to remain calm.
The Speaker prayed that Allah will comfort them and replace their losses, while appealing to relevant agencies to take decisive measures in order to avert the future recurrence of the incidence.
Speaker Abbas also symphatised with the people and the government of Kaduna State over the unfortunate incident.
