2024: House of Representatives enjoins Nigerians to keep faith in promise of brighter future

The House of Representatives congratulates Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora on the celebration of the New Year 2024.

As a country, we faced diverse challenges at different times of the year 2023. Nonetheless, the year was marked with significant progress for us in many ways, especially our smooth and seventh consecutive democratic transition in this budding Fourth Republic.

Amongst gains from the year was the inauguration of our most politically diverse National Assembly in recent history, with representatives drawn from eight political parties. This bold statement by Nigerians across the 360 federal constituencies is a huge testament of an emphatic belief in the concept of representative democracy and its maturity in our dear country.

In welcoming this new year with good promises for our future, the Tenth House of Representatives stands strong with our constituents in our collective march towards greater progress and development. We enjoin our compatriots at home and in the Diaspora to truly approach the year with newness and keep faith in the promise of a brighter year ahead of us.

As a people globally acclaimed to be ingrained with resilience, let us consider the dawn of the new year as an opportunity to shake off whatever disappointments may have arisen from our national challenges in 2023.

The ‘People’s House’ remains devoted and dedicated to effective service delivery and critical interventions in line with our 8-point Legislative Agenda. Proactivity and responsiveness, citizen engagement and accountability, consultations and collaboration will continue to occupy a premium place in the Rt. Hon.
