The Nigeria House of Representatives extends warm greetings to Christian Faithful across our country and beyond, as we commemorate the conclusion of this year’s Lenten Season and celebrate the global event of Easter.
During this annual season, we reflect on the profound significance of the death, burial, and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of the Christian faith. It serves as a powerful reminder of the paramount message of love for God and our neighbors, which is embodied in the life, teachings, and ministry of Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate this day, let us also reaffirm our commitment to the principles of perseverance, hope, and redemption, in our collective efforts to lead Nigeria towards a brighter future for all.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen PhD, urges prayers to overcome Nigeria’s current socio-economic and security challenges, highlighting Easter as a pivotal season for such prayers by patriotic citizens.

“It is in this spirit that Nigerians should pray for their leaders, beginning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, as well as others in the various arms and tiers of government,” reads part of his Easter message.
Speaker Abbas further encourages Christians and all Nigerians to emulate the selflessness and sacrificial love exemplified by Jesus Christ. He emphasises that only through leaders and citizens alike eschewing self-gratification and working together toward common goals can we create a better world.
Though times may seem challenging, let us be of good cheer and embrace the transformative messages of Easter today and in the days ahead.
Happy Easter, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Signed
Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr. House Spokesman/Chairman, House Committee on Media & Public Affairs
