The Nigeria House of Representatives celebrates with Muslim Faithful across our country and beyond, as we commemorate this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

One of the most important festivals on the Islamic Lunar Calendar; Eid-el-Fitr signifies a celebration of gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT), spiritual devotion, charity and a new beginning for each devotee. A time of reflection also, on its symbolism and the enduring lessons of Ramadan.

As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, this year, let us use this opportunity to strengthen the spirit of generosity, togetherness and promote positivity at all times, in spite of our national challenges.

In his goodwill message to Muslim Faithful at Eid-el-Fitr, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen PhD, urges continuous prayers for Nigeria even after Ramadan, noting that a peaceful and prosperous nation equally needs prayers to sustain its blessings.

"We thank Allah (SWT) for making it possible for us to witness the Holy Month of Ramadan peacefully. We pray that He accepts all our acts of Ibadah.

"As we celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr, I enjoin Nigerians, especially Muslims, to offer prayers for the country and our leaders. Let's also remain united as a people," the Speaker said.

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has called on Nigerians to keep faith. In his message, Kalu said, “I congratulate our Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fast in the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

"I call on Nigerians to use the occasion to promote national integration, and continue keeping faith with the leadership of the country, as the country would soon witness the type of greatness desired by citizens."

The Green Chamber sends best wishes to our constituents and all Nigerians at Eid-el-Fitr. May the joy at Eid continue to enrich our country in peace and prosperity.

Signed:
