As an exemplar of community spirit, Rep. Akintunde Rotimi Jr., the Member representing Ekiti North 1 Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has facilitated the distribution of palliatives and cash gifts to constituents in Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The End-of-Year event held on Wednesday in both local government areas, saw a cumulative distribution of 3000 bags of rice, 1000 bags of garri and cash gifts amounting to N15 million as substantial relief to members of the communities during the festivities.

Marked by an atmosphere of immense joy and gratitude amongst the estimated 8,000 beneficiaries impacted, the distribution programme was attended by 40 groups drawn from each local government area as a way of ensuring comprehensive coverage across the entire constituency.

In an expression of gratitude for the event's success, Rep. Rotimi Jr. acknowledged the support of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Speaker Abbas Tajudeen. He noted that their steadfast support played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the impactful initiative, being replicated across the country.

Rep. Rotimi Jr. who doubles as Spokesman of the Tenth House of Representatives also ceased the opportunity to passionately share his legislative achievements with constituents. The lawmaker proudly announced his sponsorship of several impactful bills and motions, as well as the facilitation of petitions from distressed citizens since his inauguration in June.

Notably, he highlighted the successful facilitation of a petition leading to the resolution of the  long-standing HND/BSc dichotomy in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). A resolution that has ensured the advancement of about 3,000 personnel who had experienced career stagnation since their recruitment in 2012.

Beyond legislation, he assured his constituents of outstanding physical projects in the future, just as he restated his commitment to local development and facilitation of job opportunities for Ikole and Oye LGAs.

Rep. Rotimi further reaffirmed his dedication to the continued implementation of programmes that uplift and empower constituents in reflection of his tireless advocacy for positive change and development in Ekiti North 1 Federal Constituency and the country at large.

High point of the occasion was the session where constituents who tangibly experienced improvement in their lives since Rep. Rotimi's inauguration shared touching testimonials. The testimonials underscored the positive impact of various initiatives by their Representative and highlighted commitment to the core principle of “leaving no one behind” - a cornerstone of his campaign mantra.
