House of Representatives felicitates Awùjalẹ̀ of Ijebu Land

The House of Representatives felicitates the Awùjalẹ̀ of Ijebu Land, Oba Dr.Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna (Ogbagba II) on the occasion of his 90th birthday anniversary. The Green Chamber also congratulates the revered monarch on his 64th coronation anniversary and conferment of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on him, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Together with the illustrious people of Ijebu Land, Ogun State and Nigeria at large, we celebrate this national icon for his unwavering contributions in our dear country, especially in the areas of education, religious harmony and justice, as well as the promotion of democracy and good governance. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, in his congratulatory message to the Awùjalẹ̀, described Oba Adetona as one of the most respected traditional rulers in the country whose reign has positively impacted Ijebu Land and the entire country. He also noted that the Awùjalẹ̀ is not just one of the longest reigning monarchs in Nigeria, but one of the heroes of democracy in Nigeria, who should be celebrated. The Speaker further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for conferring the monarch with the second highest national honour, describing it as an honour well deserved.
