National Security: House of Reps to host National Dialogue on State Police

The House of Representatives, in collaboration with the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), FCDO/UKAID, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will convene a One-Day National Dialogue on Security and State Police.

The primary objective of this Dialogue is to facilitate a comprehensive national discussion on the merits and challenges of State Police, with a focus on aggregating citizens' views and perspectives. The event also aims to propose model(s) as well as institutional and legal frameworks for the effective implementation of state policing in Nigeria.
Aligned with the Legislative Agenda of the 10th Assembly House of Representatives, which seeks to develop legislative measures to address the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria, this Dialogue complements the president's ongoing efforts to reform and strengthen the country's security architecture for optimal performance.
